In opening speech for the “Around the Table” exhibition, I discussed how the show uses food as a metaphor for social gatherings, aiming to rise above social polarization by celebrating cultural diversity and open dialogue. Food has historically been a reoccurring subject in art, reflecting social norms, cultural traditions, and hospitality.

As part of the Around the Table exhibition, I held a public conversation with artist Michael Rakowitz at the de la Cruz Gallery about his series Dar Al Sulh (Domain of Conciliation). This program marked the first event of the exhibition’s two-part closing reception and offered an opportunity to explore his work through themes of reconciliation, memory, and cultural heritage.
